This is how it works!

$45 per single kayak for 3 hours.

$55 per tandem (2 people) Kayak for 3 hours.

And Group Rates are available with a 20% discount.

  We have single and tandem (2 people) kayaks.  We have 3 self-guided tours a day that leave from Bay Area Park located at 7500 Bay Area Blvd, Pasadena, TX.  We have an 8 am, an 11 am, and a 2 pm self-guided tour from our reservations or you can call and make your reservation for a specific time.  Paid reservations are required and group rates are available for 5 or more Kayaks.  A 20% dicount will be applied to your order and you can make those from our Group Reservations page or by using the promo code GROUPDISCOUNT at the checkout.

We are on call and operate through paid reservations.  Reservations can either be made over the phone or from the website.  We generally require at least 24-hour notice for our reservations from the website but you can call the same day to make a paid reservation over the phone if we have availability.  During our busy times we cannot always answer the phone.  We do not take reservations through voicemail, and reservations must be paid before you are completely booked and we cannot hold kayaks without a paid reservation.  We will do what we can to accommodate you if we are able to.

Self-Guided Tour

Things to Bring Kayaking:

  • Sunscreen.

  • Sunglasses.

  • Hat or Visor.

  • Water or Juices, drinks with electrolytes.  Alcohol isn’t good in the heat.

  • Snacks. (energy bar, granola, fruit, nuts, etc).

  • Weather-appropriate clothing that can get wet.

  • Change of clothes for after paddling.  There are modern public restrooms at Bay Area Park.

  • Sandles, water shoes, or shoes that can get wet. (we prefer Keens)

  • Waterproof cases, zip-lock bags, dry bags, or dry boxes.

  • Cell Phone that is charged. (Required) You can put it in a dry bag or box.

  • Waterproof Camera (optional)

  • Friend/Friends. Spouse, Family, Enemy, a Date (all optional)

  • Insect Repellent. (optional)

  • A towel and a garbage bag for drying off and sitting on while driving home.

  • A watch or a charged Cell Phone (required)

  • Chapstick or another form of UV lip protectant.

  • A sense of humor

  • A sense of adventure. (required)

  • Dog (optional) it should have a PFD (life jacket)

  • Cat. (probably not the best idea but we would love to see some footage.)

Rules, Restrictions, Requirements, Cancelations and Guidelines

Rules, Restrictions, Requirements, Cancelations and Guidelines:

  • Age Restriction:  Must be at least 7 years old to kayak, must be able to paddle, and must be in a tandem (2 people) Kayak.

  • Age Requirement:  Everyone 13 years and under must wear a PFD (life jacket)

  • Age Requirement:  Must be 14 to be in a single kayak.

  • Age Rules:  All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Sibling teenagers do not count as a guardian.

  • PFD (life jacket) Requirements:  All kayakers must have a PFD (life jacket) and show that they can properly wear it.

  • Alcohol Restrictions:  There will be no getting drunk on the bayou in, on, or around our equipment.

  • Trash Rules:  Carry in and carry out.  What you bring with you on the bayou should come back with you from the bayou and be disposed of properly.

  • Damage to Kayaks and Equipment:  Do not damage the kayaks.  Don’t ram into things, cut on them, etc.  You will be charged for damages and potential loss of business.  We have never had an issue with this but it has to be said.

  • Boundary Rules:  Stay within the areas that we have assigned for you.

  • Time Rules:  Show up 15 mins to 30 mins before your launch time to make sure you are fully ready to go.  ie bug spray, sunscreen, clothing changed etc.

  • Time Rules:  Please do not be late for your launch or your return from the bayou.  We have a number of guests who will be launching and returning at the same time and we wouldn’t want anyone to have to wait.

  • Transporting Kayak Rules:  We do not allow anyone to transport our equipment to any other areas other than what is described on our website.  We will consider it theft.  The same rule applies if you return late after your time is up and if you are not back by the end of closing.

  • Identification Requirements:  We require ID for renting our equipment.

  • Waivers Requirements:  Every adult needs to sign one of our waivers and a guardian or parent needs to sign for any minors.  Teenage siblings or boyfriends/girlfriends are not considered guardians.

  • Check-In Requirements:  Everyone renting from us needs to check-in and check out before using our equipment and before leaving.  All equipment must be checked.  We have never had an issue with equipment that we’ve had to charge anyone for and we like keeping it like that.

Cancelation Policy:

  We require at least 48 hours notice for cancelations.  We require  7 days notice for cancelations of group events.  There will be no refunds.  Having said that, we have never had any major issues with this policy.

Reasons for us to cancel your tour with a full refund:

  • Bad weather.

  • Payment Failure.

  • Winds over 15 mph.

  • Your physical health or weight.  We have never had an issue with someone’s weight that we couldn’t work around somehow.  But if there isn’t a way then there isn’t anything else we can do.

  • Fast-rising tides/current.

  • Storms of any kind.

  • Pandemic / Covid-19 (never thought we’d have to say that)

  • Tsunamis.

  • War

  • Asteroids

  • Family Death

  • Common everyday issues that may come up.  We are pretty understanding.

  • Common sense issues outside of people’s control.

Reasons for us to cancel a tour without a refund:

  • Being Combative, Inappropriate, Intoxicated, Beligerant etc.

  • Being a danger to yourself or others.

  • Canceling a group event with less than 7 days’ notice.

  • Canceling individual or small groups with less than 48 hours’ notice.  We understand that things happen and will attempt to work around the issue.

  • No Show.

  • Arriving past your launch time.  If we can work around it we will for you.  We haven’t ever really had issues with it luckily.

  • Criminal Behavior

  I’m sure there are many more things we can think of but let’s all just be nice to each other, respectful, and honest if there happen to be any issues.  Like we’ve said previously, we attempt to work with people if there are ever any issues and have only had to punish a small few.  If you have read this far then you are probably not in the “bad” crowd of folks.
